PTSD disrupts the lives of average individuals as well as combat veterans who have served their country. The person experiencing the trauma often then impacts the lives of his/her family, friends, and workplaces. PTSD does not distinguish between race, age or gender and often goes undiagnosed. Even with proper diagnosis, many individuals do not know where to turn to get help. Society needs to understand the aftermath of trauma especially combat trauma and how to prepare for warriors when they return home.

Parental alienation is a devastating problem affecting millions of families around the world. Unfortunately, much like how we addressed domestic violence several decades ago, we treat parental alienation as a domestic issue rather than as a problem that affects communities, school systems, police and court systems, mental health and financial institutions, and legislative bodies. I will discuss how our social and cultural systems sanction and even promote parental alienation at the expense of our children, and what can be done about it.

Professor Witt studies how a person's ability to act influences perception. For example, baseball players who are hitting well see the ball as bigger. People who are fatigued or out of shape see hills as steeper. Objects that are within reach look closer. These findings demonstrate an important role of action in the basic processes of perception
The Importance of Studying Sharks - Lisa Wickman
My idea worth spreading is that sharks are worth studying and making people care about. Sharks are incredibly important to oceans (they are an apex predator, similar to the cornerstone of marine populations), greatly misunderstood (sharks attack people, but so do bears. It’s a risk you take when you enter their home) and are becoming increasingly threatened. Sharks use mangroves as nursery habit for up to three years as babies, which is a concern for their future, as mangroves are increasingly destroyed for coastal development. Additionally, sharks face persecution by fishermen as targets and as bycatch. Therefore, conservation of sharks must be superbly intertwined with human culture and society if it is to be successful because of the direct link between human activity and shark population decline.
